PORT OF TARANTO, 13 FEBRUARY, 2024 - The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding was held this morning in the port of Taranto between the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea and the Juvenile Social Service Office (USSM) of Taranto, which operates on behalf of the Juvenile Judicial Authority in the administrative centre and the Ionian province. Representing the two entities were the Secretary General of the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea, Mr. Roberto Settembrini, and Ms. Patrizia Quatraro, in her capacity as Director of the USSM Taranto
With the signing of the agreement, the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea and the USSM Taranto, in their actions to encourage the promotion of the cultural identity of the local community - in its democratic, inclusive, plural and dynamic dimension, intend to plan a series of actions that fit well with the vision of development and regeneration of the port city of Taranto.
The two Entities have, in fact, formalised the start of an inter-institutional collaboration aimed at defining projects of dissemination and orientation on the themes of port culture, to be developed through activities of education to legality and awareness of the local community (also understood as educating community). The hope shared by the undersigned parties is to promote the many opportunities related to the sea, as a resource capable of embracing different fields, ranging from the social and employment context, involving also the scientific, environmental and tourism ones.
This agreement will also support the promotion of a path of institutional collaboration useful to increase the knowledge of economic and sociocultural activities related to the life of the port and inspire paths of training, information and professionalisation, for the benefit of the users of USSM Taranto, and in connection with other stakeholders of the Ionian community
