PORT OF TARANTO, 26 JUNE 2023 - President Sergio Prete and Secretary General Roberto Settembrini met this morning with the territorial transport union organisations FILT CGIL, FITCISL and UILTRASPORTI, representing the port workers.
Today's meeting was an opportunity to provide an update on the procedure for the establishment of the new Agency under Article 17(5) of Law 84/94 on the Provision of Temporary Port Work.
The meeting also discussed the plan for the financial and regulatory expansion of the Taranto Port Workers Agency (TPWA). On this point, the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea (AdSPMI) and the trade unions are working on drafting an explanatory note to be sent soon to the competent institutions and to the Ionian parliamentarians in order to make a formal request for this expansion.
Finally, the meeting reviewed the activities of San Cataldo Container Terminal SpA and analysed the prospects for new companies to set up in the port area, both in the context of state procedures and the applications received within the Ionian Interregional SEZ Puglia-Basilicata
