PORT OF TARANTO, 16 JUNE 2025 – Mr Giovanni Gugliotti officially took office this morning as the newly appointed Extraordinary Commissioner of the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea – Port of Taranto, following Decree No. 136 dated 11 June 2025 issued by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr Matteo Salvini.
As of today and until the regular governance bodies are reinstated, Commissioner Gugliotti – already designated by the Minister, in agreement with the President of the Apulia Region, as the future President of the Port Network Authority – will exercise the powers and responsibilities provided for under Article 8 of Law No. 84/1994 and subsequent amendments.
According to the decree, the appointment of the new Commissioner follows the resignation of the previously appointed Extraordinary Commissioner and aims to ensure the full operational continuity of the Port of Taranto, facilitating the pursuit of national maritime and port policy objectives through an orderly handover in management. The appointment also reflects a renewed orientation towards the transition back to the Authority’s standard governance framework.
