PORT OF TARANTO, 27 FEBRUARY 2025 – By Decree No. 31 dated 26 February 2025, the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, has appointed Sergio Prete, Professor and Lawyer, as the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea – Port of Taranto.
As of the date of the Decree, and until the appointment of a new governing body, Commissioner Prete will exercise the powers and functions outlined in Article 8 of Law No. 84/94 and subsequent amendments. The appointment, as stated in the official decree, is aimed at ensuring continuity in administrative operations and preventing stagnation following the expiry of the ordinary governing bodies, particularly in light of ongoing infrastructure investments deemed strategic for the country.
